President Kufuor Initially Got 39% But Later Won; So I Believe I Will Also Win The 2028 Election – Bawumia
Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed optimism about winning the 2028 general elections. He made this known during the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) “Thank You” tour held recently in Kumasi.
Dr. Bawumia addressed doubts surrounding his presidential ambitions, stating that although some people are mocking him and believe he can never become president, he remains hopeful.
He drew a comparison to former President John Agyekum Kufuor, noting that Kufuor received only 39% of the vote in his first attempt but eventually became president. Dr. Bawumia believes that history will repeat itself.
He added that President Kufuor had shared with him how he was ridiculed after his initial loss but chose to ignore the criticism and persisted with his ambition. In the end, his determination paid off, and he became Ghana’s president.
Dr. Bawumia expressed confidence that, like Kufuor, he too will overcome challenges and emerge victorious in the 2028 elections.
