Mawuli Semevo, A Legend, Bids Farewell Today
The final burial rites for veteran actor Mawuli Semevo will take place today, April 5, at 9:00 AM at the National Theatre of Ghana.
On Thursday, March 27, the National Theatre hosted a tribute event titled “Remembering Mawuli Semevo”, celebrating the life and legacy of the esteemed actor. Mawuli Semevo tragically passed away on Thursday, February 20, at the Ridge Hospital after suffering injuries from a fire accident.
Semevo, who retired as the director of the Drama Company—one of the three resident performing groups of the National Theatre—leaves behind an unforgettable mark on the Ghanaian entertainment industry.
Known for his exceptional acting talent, both on stage and in films, Mawuli Semevo featured in numerous iconic productions. Some of his notable works include Harvest at 17, A Stab in the Dark, Escape of Love, Like Cotton Twines, and The Good Old Days: The Love of AA.
