I’m Thinking About Getting Into Acting This Year – Mr. Drew

Ghanaian Afrobeats musician, Mr Drew, has revealed his plans to venture into acting alongside his music career.

Having studied Theatre Arts at the university, Mr Drew noted that if not for music, he would have pursued a career in acting and dancing.

Speaking to AJ Sarpong on 3Lounge on February 19, he shared that he is considering part-time acting this year.

“Yes, that’s something I’m seriously thinking about this year. So, you will see Mr Drew on your screens,” he confirmed on 3FM.

Mr Drew also highlighted how his background in Theatre Arts allows him to provide creative input to the music video directors he collaborates with.

The Dwe hitmaker believes he will take on the role of directing his own music videos in the future.

“Usually, I assess what the director is bringing on board and suggest changes. I share my ideas and collaborate to bring the vision to life,” he explained. “So, I see myself directing most of my music videos in the future.”

In 2021, Mr Drew won the Best New Artist award at both the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and the 3Music Awards.
