The Minister-designate for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations has rejected claims from state security suggesting he was once a TESCON member during his time at KNUST.

Appearing before the Appointments Committee, the NDC MP called it an “unfortunate lie” for anyone to claim he was ever a TESCON member.

During his vetting on Thursday, January 30, 2025, Minority Leader Afenyo-Markin revealed that state security information provided to the Committee suggested he had been a member of TESCON, as part of the due diligence process.

When questioned about the accuracy of the information, Sam George strongly refuted the claim, stating he has never been a TESCON member. He further remarked, “This is part of the reason why I’ve said the new Mahama administration must overhaul our state security apparatus, as it’s clearly ineffective if it claims I’m a TESCON member.”
