In a lovely Convo on “WhatsUP Minister” with Sir Isaac, US Based Ghanaian Gospel Minister Daniel Nettey revealed that he broke down when he heard of the passing of his mentor, late Danny Nettey. The late Gospel Minister Danny Nettey was my project manager when we first met at a reality show called ‘Stars of the Future’, Daniel Nettey explained.
Minister stated that, while he was in Nigeria, he had the opportunity to write his debut song, “I Need You” and the most important role of this project/ song was played by the late minister Danny Nettey. Just as the song was ready to be released, I received a call from Ghana with shocking and tragic news that Gospel Icon, Danny Nettey had passed on, Minister Daniel said.
The news broke me so down and as a result I could not release the song because of the passing on of my mentor, Danny Nettey, Daniel Nettey further revealed. “He guided and shaped me into a better person,” he continued.
Because of similarity in their names, Minister Daniel decided not to release the song in order not to stir up any controversy or problems, and that’s why it took him a year before the song was released. He recalled the advice given by the late minister Danny Nettey; “be yourself; don’t try to be someone else”. “That’s why I’m Daniel Nettey, not Danny Nettey,” he said.
