GMA Pays Tribute To Gospel Legend Yaw Sarpong
The Ghana Music Awards (GMA) has honoured the late gospel music icon Yaw Sarpong with a heartfelt tribute following his death.
Recognised as a major force in Ghana’s gospel music scene, Yaw Sarpong was praised for his long-standing role in shaping contemporary gospel music through songs that promoted faith, unity, and hope.
In acknowledgement of his outstanding contribution to the industry, he was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards. The honour celebrates individuals whose work has made a lasting impact on Ghana’s music industry.

The GMA noted that although Yaw Sarpong has passed on, his influence lives on through his music and the countless lives he touched, as well as the many gospel musicians he inspired.
