Delivering the message during a recent sermon, Dr. Peters stressed the need to clearly distinguish between secular and gospel music, encouraging artistes to focus on true worship rather than entertainment.

He explained that authentic gospel music should be directed first and foremost to God, conveying messages of faith, hope and spiritual upliftment, rather than seeking human praise, admiration or romantic appeal.

His remarks have since generated widespread discussion among musicians and church members, with many taking to social media to share differing views on intention, audience and message in gospel music.
