In a post on their official Facebook page, the group highlighted the need for respect, honour and proper communication when using songs created by earlier generations.

“You couldn’t have said this any better. Instead of honour, some even compete. Let’s find a better way to reach out to song owners before remixing their songs. We enjoy the new versions, but asking for permission is important. May God bless us all,” the group stated.
Their comments come at a time when more young artistes are remaking classic gospel songs without consulting the original creators. While DGJ said they appreciate new interpretations, they stressed that respect for legacy and intellectual property must come first.

The group added that contacting original composers and performers is not just a legal requirement but also a moral and Christian responsibility.
