Edward Akwasi Boateng’s Ex-wife Drags Him To Court, Demands 50% Share Of His House
Veteran gospel musician Edward Akwasi Boateng has disclosed that his estranged wife has filed a legal suit against him, seeking 50% ownership of a house he says he built through his decades-long music career.
The case, currently before the Donyina Court, was brought by Genevieve Osei Boateng, whom he married in 1999. The couple has four children together.

According to Akwasi Boateng, the couple has been estranged for nearly five years, yet his ex-wife now claims the property, constructed shortly after their marriage, entitles her to half.

He expressed shock at the claim, insisting that the house was entirely funded by his earnings as a musician. Throughout their marriage, he said he provided significant support to his wife, including financing her overseas travel and purchasing vehicles.
Akwasi Boateng also highlighted that his ex-wife currently owns her own property, built during their separation, making her claim on his house particularly surprising.
The gospel musician explained that he formally filed for divorce at the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) after observing public debates around the late Daddy Lumba’s family dispute, which motivated him to officially document his marital status and prevent future misunderstandings.
The case remains ongoing.
