Ghanaian gospel musician and former prison officer, Braa Kwaku, has opened up about why he resigned from the Ghana Prison Service a decision he says was strongly influenced by marriage.

Speaking in an interview with Nii Noi on Hitz FM, Braa Kwaku revealed that balancing his marriage with the demands of the security service became increasingly difficult.

According to him, the nature of his work required long hours, strict routines, and frequent absence from home, which placed strain on his relationship.

He explained that after careful thought and prayer, he decided to choose his home and marriage over the uniform.

“Marriage was the main reason I left the Ghana Prison Service,” he disclosed during the interview.

Braa Kwaku stated that the decision was not easy, especially considering the stability and prestige that come with working in the security sector. However, he felt that stepping away was necessary to protect the peace and longevity of his marriage.

He added that leaving the service opened the door for him to pursue his passion for music full-time—something he had always wanted to do but could not fully commit to while serving.
