The 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) delivered another thrilling finale as Mfantsipim School, popularly known as BOTWE, successfully defended their national championship.
The grand finale took place at the SGS Auditorium of the University of Cape Coast, where the defending champions showcased accuracy, confidence, and strong teamwork to secure their fourth national title.
Mfantsipim entered the final as favourites after a dominant semifinal win over Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) and Mankranso SHS. Their latest victory marks a rare back-to-back win, following their 2024 triumph.

Round One:
Mfantsipim opened the contest with 20 points, keeping a slim lead over St. Augustine’s College and Opoku Ware School. Their quick start signaled their determination to keep the trophy.
Round Two:
St. Augustine’s picked up momentum and topped the round with 27 points. Mfantsipim followed closely with 24 points, while Opoku Ware stayed in the race with 17 points.
Round Three:
Mfantsipim regained their lead by a single point, finishing the round with 30 points against Augustine’s 29. Opoku Ware again posted 17 points. Tension grew as chants and cheers filled the auditorium.
Round Four:
The defending champions maintained their lead with 46 points. St. Augustine’s stayed close with 42, while Opoku Ware trailed with 29.
Final Round:
In a charged atmosphere, Mfantsipim sealed their back-to-back win with 56 points. St. Augustine’s placed second with 42 points, and Opoku Ware finished third with 29.
Although their competitors pushed hard, Mfantsipim remained steady and claimed the top spot once more. St. Augustine’s College, hoping for a third title, settled for second place, while Opoku Ware School finished third after an earnest effort.
