He said his decision was influenced by recent public disputes involving the widows of Highlife legend Daddy Lumba.

Speaking in an interview on Hello FM in Kumasi, Boateng said he plans to visit the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to begin the divorce process.

“Looking at what’s happening, I’ve decided to go to the KMA to end my marriage. It’s worrying that after separating from your wife, when you die, she might show up to fight with your family, claiming to be the rightful wife. I won’t allow that. She left me, so I’ll take the step to legally dissolve the marriage,” he said.

Boateng’s decision follows years of marital problems that he says destroyed his finances.

He previously revealed that after getting married, he lost all his 17 cars and other properties. According to him, his wife encouraged him to live a lavish lifestyle, only to abandon him after moving to the United States leaving him struggling to even pay his children’s school fees.
