Too Much Backbiting In Gospel Music Fraternity – Joyce Blessing
Award-winning gospel musician Joyce Blessing has expressed disappointment over what she describes as the rampant backbiting and sabotage in the gospel music fraternity, stressing that only God’s intervention can put an end to it.
Speaking to Graphic Showbiz in an interview on Sunday, Joyce revealed her shock at how some gospel musicians—who are expected to be role models and live by the very gospel they preach often end up tearing each other down.

“When you’re new, no one pays attention to you. But once you become popular and start getting the gigs, that’s when the attacks begin. More than three gospel musicians have spoken ill of me to event organizers simply because I was chosen to perform instead of them,” she disclosed.
Because of such experiences, Joyce explained that she keeps only a small circle of trusted friends within the industry and remains cautious about who she confides in.

“I don’t want to share something with a friend and the next day hear it elsewhere. My husband is my everything, and that has kept me out of a lot of trouble. I talk to him about my concerns, and he always gives me the right guidance,” she said.
As a mother of three, Joyce also opened up about the challenges of juggling music, motherhood, and marriage. Despite the difficulties, she credited her supportive family for making it possible to balance both worlds.

“My husband is such a wonderful person. I thank God for blessing me with him. Whenever I’m not around, I don’t have to worry about anything because he takes care of it all,” she added with gratitude.
On her music, the hitmaker known for songs like “I Swerve,” “Repent,” “Heavy Price,” and “Onyankopon”—assured her fans that she will soon be releasing new uplifting tracks in the coming weeks.
