Gospel musician MOG Music has shed light on why Ghanaian gospel artistes are often absent from prestigious global award platforms like the Grammys.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz with host KMJ, MOG explained that many of his colleagues show little or no interest in pursuing such international recognition. However, he believes he has discovered the formula to break into these schemes.

“I have the blueprint, and I’ll share it with my colleagues. I’m not going to keep it to myself. Moving forward into next year, we will work on it and see the results,” he assured.

He revealed that his recent research connected him with individuals who serve on these international award boards, and through them, he gained deeper insight into the requirements and processes involved.

“I was able to connect with people who work on these boards, and they gave me the criteria, the process, and how we as Africans can gain access to that space,” MOG explained.

Addressing the common perception that schemes like the Grammys are difficult to penetrate, the gospel act clarified, “It’s actually very open, but because we haven’t done the research on that side, we assume it’s impossible.”

He also disclosed that officials linked to these awards admitted they have never received any official nomination submissions from Ghanaian gospel artistes, which further explains the absence of representation.
