It’s Not In The Bible For Men To Take Care Of Women – Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo
Founder of David’s Christian Centre, Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo, has urged women not to rely on men for financial support, stressing that such expectations are cultural and not biblical.
The preacher sparked debate online after declaring: “It’s not biblical for a man to take care of a woman. That idea came from culture, not scripture. The Bible says that anyone who does not work should not eat.”

His comments have since stirred widespread reactions across social media. While some agreed with his interpretation as a challenge to traditional stereotypes, others strongly disagreed, insisting that the Bible instructs men to provide for their households.

Pastor Okonkwo also cautioned women against valuing themselves solely by what men can offer, warning that such dependency often results in disrespect and poor treatment.
“The way some of you are being treated is because of how you have rated yourself. If you don’t buy me popcorn, I won’t come,” he remarked.
