Zoomlion Workers’ Salaries Increased From GHC250 To GHC1,200
In a landmark development for Ghana’s sanitation sector, salaries for Zoomlion workers have been raised significantly from GHC250 to GHC1200. The long-awaited adjustment has been widely welcomed as a major step toward improving the welfare of workers who form the backbone of the nation’s cleanliness drive.

Previously, although each worker was allocated GHC750, only GHC250 reached them, with the remainder withheld under unclear arrangements. With the new reform, every Zoomlion employee will now receive the full GHC1200, putting an end to years of grievances and dissatisfaction.
This breakthrough comes on the heels of strong advocacy and reforms championed by Malik Basintale, who has consistently pushed for fair wages and better working conditions for sanitation staff. His role has drawn praise from both the public and workers alike, who see it as a victory for dignity, fairness, and transparency in public service contracts.
