The 32-year-old was originally scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on September 2, but the case has since been transferred to Southwark Crown Court, where the new hearing will take place.

Partey faces five counts of rape involving two women and one count of sexual assault against a third woman, relating to incidents alleged to have occurred between 2021 and 2022 during his time at Arsenal. He was formally charged just four days after leaving the North London club, following the expiration of his contract in June.

The postponement ends speculation about Partey’s availability for Ghana’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that the midfielder remains fully committed and fit, describing him as “in the right frame of mind and in top shape” after including him in the 24-man squad for the qualifiers against Chad and Mali.

Partey has already joined the Black Stars as they prepare to depart Accra for N’Djamena on Tuesday afternoon. Ghana will take on Chad on Thursday, September 4, at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno.
