Police Arrest 2 Suspects In Connection With Threat To Lives Of Mahama And 1st Lady
The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into a viral TikTok video in which an individual is heard threatening the lives of President John Dramani Mahama and First Lady Lordina Mahama.

According to a statement posted on Facebook on August 12, two suspects Prince Ofori and Yayra Abiwu are currently in custody assisting with the investigation. The Police added that efforts are underway to locate other individuals believed to be connected to the video.
In the video, a female voice speaking in Twi is heard saying, “Did you see how they put them in sacks? That’s how we will treat Mahama. We will kill him and cut off the head of his wife.”
The comment referred to the tragic deaths of eight people in a helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom on August 6. The victims included: Hon. Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence; Hon. Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Member of Parliament for Tamale Central and Minister for Environment and Science; Alhaji Limuna Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator; Dr. Samuel Sarpong, National Vice Chairman of the ruling NDC; Mr. Samuel Aboagye; Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala; Flight Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu; and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
