Thomas Partey Completes First Training Session With New Club Villarreal
Villarreal’s new signing, Thomas Partey, has taken part in his first training session with the club, just days after officially joining as a free agent.
The Ghanaian international midfielder has signed a reported two-year deal, marking his return to Spain, where he previously starred for Atlético Madrid before moving to English Premier League side Arsenal FC.

In a video shared on Villarreal’s official X (formerly Twitter) page, Partey appeared in full club gear, looking sharp and fully engaged in training.
The 32-year-old’s return to Spain, however, has been overshadowed by controversy, as he faces ongoing legal proceedings in England over rape and sexual assault allegations involving three women.

Partey is currently charged with five counts of rape against two women and one count of sexual assault against another. On August 5, he appeared at Westminster Court, where he was granted conditional bail, which prohibits him from contacting any of the alleged victims. He is scheduled to reappear in court on September 2.

His signing has sparked criticism, including from a section of Villarreal supporters.
