Speaking on The Career Trail on Joy Learning TV and Joy News, the award-winning singer shared that although she ultimately pursued a different path in music, her aunt’s wish left a lasting impression on her.

“My late aunt wanted me to become a nurse,” she said. “She believed I had the qualities for it, and she encouraged me strongly in that direction.”

Hamilton explained that her aunt admired the nursing profession and envisioned it as a stable and noble career for her. While she initially considered that route out of respect and admiration, her true calling ultimately led her into music—a decision that would later earn her national and international recognition.

Now one of Ghana’s most celebrated gospel musicians, Diana Hamilton is known for powerful hits such as Adom (Grace), Mo Ne Yo, and W’asem (Your Word). Her musical journey has earned her several accolades, including Artiste of the Year at the 2021 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) a historic win for the gospel genre.
