Four Feared Dead, 20 Trapped After Galamsey Pit Collapse At Akyem Wenchi
Rescue operations are underway at Akyem Wenchi in the Denkyembour District of the Eastern Region after a mining pit collapsed, leaving several people trapped.

Reports indicate that four young men are feared dead, while around 20 others remain underground and unaccounted for.
The exact cause of the collapse is still unknown. However, teams from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and the Ambulance Service have been dispatched to the site.
They are working in coordination with local residents in a frantic effort to rescue those still trapped beneath the rubble.
