Although she stopped short of expressing regret for her actions, Afriyie stated that the apology followed discussions during the party’s emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the Alisa Hotel.

Commenting on the matter, former Bekwai MP and chairman of the NPP’s planning committee, Joseph Osei-Owusu, confirmed that her apology was accepted.

“The apology was received in good faith. The goal is to uphold party structures and ensure discipline going forward,” he noted.

However, he acknowledged that Afriyie’s decision to go against the party’s directive caused public confusion and cast the party in an unfavorable light.
