I Was Sacked By Fred Nuamah At Adom FM – Delay Shares Career Journey
Celebrated Ghanaian media personality Deloris Frimpong Manso, widely known as Delay, has opened up about a difficult chapter in her early journalism career, revealing that she was once dismissed from Adom FM by actor and producer Fred Nuamah.

Speaking at the AYA Women’s Summit over the weekend, Delay reflected on her beginnings in the media industry, which started at the tender age of 17. She shared that while at Adom FM, she hosted a late-night program from midnight to 4 a.m. but was never officially recognized as an employee a factor that led to her abrupt dismissal.
“I started radio at 17, working with Live FM and later Adom FM for about a year. At Adom, I was on air from midnight to 4 a.m., but I was never paid because I wasn’t officially considered staff. Eventually, a man named Fredrick Nuamah let me go, saying my services were no longer needed,” she recalled.

The sudden dismissal forced her to step away from radio for a while. However, she made a strong comeback in 2005 when Top Radio relaunched, and she joined their team. After two years there, she moved to Oman FM, where she remained for nine years.
Delay also acknowledged the role of Rex Annang, a prominent figure in the industry, who played a crucial part in introducing her to television. “I had auditioned at TV3 years earlier, and Rex was among the panelists. He later helped me transition into TV,” she said.
