University Of Ghana Calls For Strict Adherence To COVID-19 Protocols Amid Suspected Cases
The University of Ghana’s Health Services Directorate has issued an alert following a rise in suspected and confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Legon campus.

In a notice dated June 23, 2025, the Directorate urged students, staff, and visitors to strictly observe preventive measures, including wearing face masks in enclosed spaces, practicing regular hand hygiene, maintaining at least one metre of physical distance, and ensuring proper ventilation in offices and lecture halls.

The directive also advised avoiding large gatherings where possible and encouraged anyone with flu-like symptoms to remain at home and seek prompt medical care.
To contain the spread, COVID-19 protocols such as screening and triage have been reactivated at university health facilities, with the Directorate closely monitoring the situation.
“Cooperation from the entire campus community is crucial to protect lives and sustain academic activities,” the statement emphasized.
Students and staff are encouraged to report symptoms or seek assistance through the University Hospital at Legon.
