Kufuor Expresses Worry Over NPP’s Situation – Okaikwei Central MP Reveals
Patrick Yaw Boamah, Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, has revealed that former President John Agyekum Kufuor is deeply troubled by the current state of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking on Channel One TV, Boamah disclosed that Kufuor is alarmed by the erosion of discipline and the weakening internal structures within the party.
“He is genuinely worried about the state of the party take that from me for free,” Boamah stated.

Recounting a recent encounter, Boamah said he met the former president at the funeral of the late Justice Gbadegbe.
“The first thing he asked me was, ‘How is the party front?’ Because the NPP is part of his legacy it made him, so of course he’s concerned,” Boamah explained.

He further lamented the party’s current leadership dynamics, noting that in the past, strong party chairmen had the authority to hold even the flagbearer accountable for the good of the party.
“We were used to chairmen who could call both the flagbearer and the president to order for the sake of party unity and direction,” he added.
Boamah also called on both former presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to step in and help restore order to the party.
“This party is blessed to have two living former presidents. They must step up and guide the party in these turbulent times,” he urged.
Okaikwei Central Member of Parliament, @pyboamah , has stated that there is a leadership vacuum within the New Patriotic Party.
According to him, former Presidents Nana Akufo-Addo and John Agyekum Kufuor need to intervene to restore order to the party.
