The audit identified several serious infractions, including expired licenses, non-payment of regulatory fees, and failure to meet required operational standards. Stressing a zero-tolerance approach, the NCA warned that any station found broadcasting without proper authorization risks having its license permanently revoked.

“The rules apply to everyone—no exceptions,” the Authority stated firmly. It further noted that affected stations must resolve all outstanding issues before their applications for reinstatement will be considered.

This decisive action aligns with the mandate of the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, who has called for strict enforcement of media and broadcasting laws. The initiative is aimed at protecting the integrity and orderly development of Ghana’s media landscape.

While recognizing the critical role radio plays in national communication, the NCA emphasized that sustainable media growth can only be achieved through full adherence to legal and regulatory standards.
