Cloudy Skies And Thunderstorms Expected In Accra, Kasoa, Ho And Other Parts Of Ghana – Report

Ghanaians are advised to brace for mixed weather conditions today, June 11, 2025, as the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) forecasts cloudy skies and widespread thunderstorms across the country.

In the early hours of the day, mist and fog are expected in coastal areas like Accra and Kasoa, as well as in forested and highland zones such as Ho, Koforidua, and Kumasi. These conditions may reduce visibility and pose challenges for morning commuters.

As the day progresses, overcast skies will dominate much of the country, although brief periods of sunshine may appear in areas like Techiman, Damongo, and Sunyani by late morning.

From early afternoon into the evening, thunderstorms and rain showers—ranging in intensity—are likely across several regions. Cities including Accra, Kasoa, Ho, Kumasi, Tamale, and Bolgatanga face a 40% chance of thunderstorms. Additional rainfall may affect towns like Tarkwa, Takoradi, and Sefwi Bekwai.

Temperature readings are forecast to range between 24°C and 36°C, with northern areas such as Tamale, Bolgatanga, and Nalerigu expected to be the hottest.

Meanwhile, sea conditions along Ghana’s coastline are predicted to remain rough. Mariners and coastal residents are urged to exercise caution.

The public is encouraged to stay alert—particularly in flood-prone areas—and to take necessary precautions during periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms.
