I’ve Bought Cars For My Mother; Not Everything Is For The Internet – Shatta Wale To Critics
Ghanaian dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has denied claims that he has abandoned his biological mother.
Speaking on a live podcast on Saturday, May 24, 2025, Shatta Wale dismissed the accusations, stating that he has provided his mother with multiple cars and housing.
“That mother you people keep talking about… I don’t think you’ve even bought cars for your mothers before. I’ve bought cars for mine; I’ve done things for her. In life, you win some, you lose some,” he said.

Shatta Wale emphasized that while some people are quick to accuse him of neglecting his mother and often bring it up during disagreements, he has always supported her—choosing not to publicize it on social media.
“The number of cars I’ve bought for my mother—it’s just that we didn’t show it on the internet, but those who know, know. The beautiful places I’ve secured for her to rest her head—you people don’t know about them,” he said.
Shatta Wale’s remarks come in the wake of a recent social media exchange with content creator Kwadwo Sheldon, who rejected the artiste’s offer of help after his home in Pantang was flooded due to heavy rains.
In turning down the offer, Sheldon told Shatta Wale to instead direct his assistance toward his mother, whom he claimed had been neglected.
