Empress Gifty Files GHS 20 Million Lawsuit Against Nana Agradaa For Defamation

Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician Empress Gifty has initiated a defamation lawsuit against evangelist and social media personality Nana Agradaa, seeking GHS 20 million in damages.

The suit, filed at the Tema High Court by her lawyer, Sam Kyere Esq., alleges that Nana Agradaa—legally known as Patricia Asiedua—made defamatory and damaging remarks that have harmed Empress Gifty’s reputation.

The legal action follows a recent outburst by Agradaa on social media, where she reportedly directed a series of insults at Empress Gifty while attacking her husband, Hopeson Adorye. The verbal assault was in reaction to comments Adorye made concerning a disputed cash donation incident involving Agradaa and politician Sammy Gyamfi.

In a series of subsequent videos, Agradaa not only dismissed Adorye’s criticisms but also continued to verbally abuse both Empress Gifty and her husband using offensive and derogatory language.

According to the Statement of Claim, the gospel artist is asking the court to:

a) Award her Twenty Million Ghana Cedis (GHS 20,000,000.00) in damages for slander and libel committed by the Defendant.

b) Issue a perpetual injunction restraining the Defendant, along with her employees, agents, associates, and assigns, from publishing such defamatory words or anything similar.

c) Order the Defendant to remove all videos and audio recordings containing defamatory statements about the Plaintiff from all her social media platforms.

d) Grant costs, including legal fees.

Although Nana Agradaa has yet to provide an official response, her continued combative behavior online indicates she is prepared to defend herself publicly, even as the case proceeds through the courts.
