WAEC To Release Private BECE Results Today
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has confirmed that results for the 2025 private Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will be released today, September 5.
At a press briefing, WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, John Kapi, announced that candidates can access their results by the close of the day.
“The results of BECE for private candidates will be released by the close of today, September 5, 2025,” he stated.
This year’s BECE for both School and Private Candidates was conducted from June 11 to June 18, 2025. A total of 603,328 school candidates 97,250 males and 306,078 females from 20,395 schools sat for the exam. In addition, 1,661 private candidates (858 males and 803 females) also registered, representing a 19.49% increase compared to the previous year.

The provisional results for school candidates were released earlier on August 23, 2025. WAEC further revealed that candidates who violated examination rules were sanctioned following investigations and recommendations by its disciplinary committee.
