Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has returned to Ghana after undergoing extensive medical treatment in the United Kingdom. Her arrival marks the end of her medical leave, which began following an initial consultation at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) before she proceeded to the UK for further care.

President John Dramani Mahama, speaking during his Thank You Tour in Dodowa on Friday, May 16, expressed relief and gratitude for the Vice President’s recovery.
President John Dramani Mahama shared his joy over the Vice President’s improved health, saying, “I’m happy to state that I spoke to her yesterday morning, and she will be back in the country before the end of next week. By God’s grace, she is fully recovered and she’s going to come and go back to her duties.”
Meanwhile, the Vice President’s health sparked public concern, with widespread speculation—some even falsely claiming she had passed away.
However, government officials—including spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu—reassured the public that the Vice President was in good health and recovering well.
