The ORAL Committee Presented A Report With 2,417 Suspected Corruption Complaints To Mahama
On Monday, February 10, the ORAL Committee submitted a report to President Mahama with 2,417 suspected corruption complaints.
The complaints, collected from the public in response to the committee’s call for reports of suspected corruption, were formally presented to the president at the Jubilee House.
Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa, Chairman of the committee and Foreign Affairs Minister, addressed the president before submitting the report. He emphasized that Ghanaians were deeply concerned about corruption and were eagerly awaiting the president’s actions to tackle the issue.
As part of the president’s efforts to combat corruption, the ORAL team was quickly established to begin work even before the president was sworn into office.
The committee has received a total of 2,417 reports, with 1,493 submitted via a toll-free call and 924 through emails.
The president praised the team for their efforts, particularly noting that they had volunteered their work without seeking any compensation.
He stated, “Every pesewa” recovered from the operation would be reinvested in national development, stressing that Ghana is no longer a haven for corruption.
