Ghanaian gospel singer Piesie Esther has opened up about her songwriting journey and the emotions tied to one of her most impactful songs, “Mo.”

Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, she reflected on the song’s lyrical depth and her surprise at the brilliance of the final outcome.

According to Piesie Esther, there are moments when she sits back, revisits the lyrics, and asks herself, “Was this really me?” She explained that the arrangement, message, and spiritual weight of “Mo” often leave her amazed at how God inspires her creativity.

Piesie Esther also revealed that she was a bit disappointed that “Mo” did not earn her a Songwriter of the Year nomination at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs). Given the strong lyrical composition and how deeply the song resonates with listeners, she had hoped it would be recognized in that category.
