“Shut Up” – Sam George Slams Bawumia Over Ablekuma North Chaos Comments
Ningo-Prampram MP and Minister for Communications, Samuel Nartey George, has lashed out at former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over his condemnation of the recent violence during the Ablekuma North parliamentary rerun.

Chaos broke out at the Odorkor Methodist 1 Polling Station, where unknown assailants attacked several individuals, including former MP Hawa Koomson and NPP Deputy National Organiser Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei Asamoah.
Reacting to the incident, Dr. Bawumia described the violence as “deeply disturbing” and “a threat to national stability,” urging President John Mahama to ensure justice is served. He also stated that an NPP government would prosecute the offenders.

But in a blunt social media post on Friday, July 11, Sam George fired back:
“Someone should tell Bawumia to shut up. What did he say about Ayawaso West Wuogon in 2019?”
His comments referenced the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence, during which eight citizens were injured—an event the NDC has long criticised as state-sponsored brutality that was met with silence from the then-sitting Vice President.
Sam George’s reaction has reignited debates about political hypocrisy, selective outrage, and the long-standing issue of electoral violence in Ghana.
