SHS Student Arrested At OKESS With Locally Manufactured Gun
A male boarding student of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (OKESS) in Kumasi has been taken into police custody after he was found in possession of a locally manufactured pistol.
The incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, May 18, when the student returned to campus around 9:30 p.m. During a routine security check at the school’s main entrance, personnel discovered the weapon in his possession.
Despite the discovery, the student managed to escape the scene, evading immediate arrest.
According to a source within the school administration, the headmaster, Mr. Michael Mensah—popularly known as “Sir Micky”—personally tracked down the student in the early hours of Sunday. He then escorted the student, along with the confiscated weapon, to the police station.
Law enforcement authorities have since taken over the case and launched an investigation into how the student obtained the weapon and whether there may be broader security concerns at the school.
