Veteran broadcaster and entertainment icon Andy Dosty has revealed that acclaimed dancehall star Shatta Wale once showed keen interest in signing rapper King Paluta to his label, well before the latter rose to national prominence.

“The person who wanted to sign King Paluta was Shatta Wale. He was genuinely interested in signing him back when Paluta hadn’t yet made a name for himself,” Andy Dosty disclosed during an appearance on the Asetena Pa Podcast, hosted by Akoto Mansa on YouTube.
The seasoned broadcaster further shared that he held several detailed discussions with Shatta Wale at the time, where they explored strategies to grow King Paluta’s brand and considered the level of investment it would take to push the Kumasi-based talent to the forefront.
He recalled, “I remember I would spend about an hour with Shatta Wale talking about King Paluta — how to shape his career and the kind of money we needed,” emphasizing the seriousness of their conversations and the level of interest Shatta Wale had in the young rapper’s potential.
Interestingly, Andy Dosty revealed that King Paluta was completely unaware of the conversations surrounding his future at the time. Despite having a strained personal relationship with Shatta Wale, the broadcaster disclosed that he still played a key role in bringing about their eventual collaboration on the song “Adiepena.”
Over the past two years, King Paluta has experienced a rapid ascent in Ghana’s music industry, consistently releasing hit tracks and delivering unforgettable performances. His distinctive rap style and sharp lyricism have earned him widespread praise and recognition.
Currently dominating the local music scene, King Paluta is now regarded as a leading contender for the coveted Artiste of the Year title at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, scheduled for May 3.
Although a formal signing never took place, Andy Dosty’s revelations shed light on the early confidence industry giants like Shatta Wale had in King Paluta’s potential—even before he rose to prominence.
