Sammy Flex Confirms Shatta Wale Was Invited To Richard Quaye’s Birthday

Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex, has responded to social media rumors regarding the artist’s invitation to the widely discussed birthday celebration of businessman Richard Nii Armah Quaye.

Speaking on his YouTube channel on March 25, 2025, Sammy Flex clarified that he was contacted by one of the event organizers about Shatta Wale’s invitation. Since he was in London at the time, he directed the organizer to a team member. He later confirmed with the team member that the invitation was received.

He dismissed claims that Shatta Wale’s absence was due to Richard Quaye having to choose between him and Stonebwoy.

Additionally, Sammy Flex refuted speculations that Shatta Wale snubbed the event because of the presence of Despite Group of Companies CEO, citing their past feud.

“I’ve seen stories claiming that Richard Quaye had to choose between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy because they couldn’t be at the same event. Some say he picked the ‘bigger’ artist and chose Stonebwoy—are you sure?

Others are also suggesting that Shatta Wale wasn’t invited because Despite was attending. Once again, that’s pure balderdash—complete lies that should be dismissed.

There are even claims that Shatta Wale demanded the same payment Davido received. All of these are false. Some people even believe Shatta Wale was never invited at all, which is simply untrue.”

“I was in London, not Ghana, when I received a call from someone named Soraya. I couldn’t answer, so she sent me a message saying she was calling about Richard Nii Armah Quaye’s birthday and had Shatta Wale’s invitation. Since I wasn’t in Ghana, I directed her to a team member. Later, when I returned, I asked my team, and they confirmed that she had indeed called,” he stated.

According to Sammy Flex, Shatta Wale places great importance on his personal values, and the invitation might not have aligned with them, which could explain why he chose not to attend.

“Everyone has their values. For some artistes, their priority might be attending parties to drink, eat, and dance. But I can’t even remember the last time Shatta Wale was seen eating in public.

If you truly want him at an event, certain values must be met. Maybe while my team was in Ghana and I was in London, those values were not discussed as part of the invitation, so they likely decided to decline it,” he added.
