Sam George Urges TikTok To Compensate Ghanaian Content Creators Fairly
The Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Sam George, has revealed that he has called on TikTok to offer fair compensation to content creators in Ghana.

Speaking at the Government Accountability Series on Friday, August 1, the Minister explained that this appeal came after a recent engagement with TikTok representatives, focused on advancing a secure and prosperous digital economy in the country.
“At the meeting, I emphasized the need for TikTok to ensure equitable compensation for Ghanaian content creators. I also recommended the formation of a local content moderation and governance team that aligns with Ghanaian values, safeguards user rights, and meets national regulatory standards,” he stated.

He further disclosed that the Ministry is collaborating with TikTok to launch a capacity-building program for local creators.
“I’m eager to see the rollout of this partnership with TikTok, which will help equip our creators with the skills to effectively monetise their content on the platform. We expect this initiative to commence in the fourth quarter of 2025,” he added.
