Rihanna Announces She’s Expecting Her Third Child With A$AP Rocky

Singer Rihanna has officially revealed she’s expecting her third child, making the announcement in style at fashion’s biggest night—the Met Gala in New York.

The 37-year-old proudly cradled her baby bump and smiled for the cameras on a navy carpet adorned with daffodils.

Rihanna, born Robyn Fenty, shares two sons with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers.

Speaking to reporters who congratulated them on the news, A$AP Rocky responded warmly, saying, “It’s time to show the people what we’ve been cooking up.”

Rihanna was the final celebrity to grace the red carpet at the benefit event for New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, which celebrates the opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibition.

Each year, stars showcase extravagant looks inspired by the gala’s theme. This year’s concept, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” marked the first time since 2003 that the focus was solely on menswear.

A$AP Rocky, who served as a co-chair for the evening, confirmed the couple’s exciting baby news during his red carpet appearance.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” the rapper said.

“I’m glad everybody’s happy for us because we’re definitely happy”, he added.

The couple welcomed their first son, RZA, in May 2022, followed by their second son, Riot, in August 2023.

Rihanna, a global pop icon and successful entrepreneur, has become known for her headline-making pregnancy reveals.

She introduced her first pregnancy with a striking photoshoot alongside A$AP Rocky in Harlem, New York, back in 2022. The following year, she unveiled her second pregnancy during her performance at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show.

She’s not the first celebrity to debut a baby bump at the Met Gala—former tennis champion Serena Williams and model Karlie Kloss both revealed their pregnancies at the 2023 edition of the event.
