However, Reverend Kusi-Boateng has publicly refuted these claims. Addressing his congregation, he clarified that he was not arrested but was merely invited for questioning regarding the National Cathedral project upon his return to Ghana after a short trip. He emphasized his status as a law-abiding citizen, stating, “I have not been arrested, and no one can arrest me because I have done nothing that would warrant an arrest.”

The allegations against Reverend Kusi-Boateng date back to 2023 when North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, accused him of using multiple identities and receiving GH¢2.6 million through JNS Talent Centre Ltd as part of the National Cathedral project. Despite these accusations, Reverend Kusi-Boateng continues to serve on the National Cathedral’s Executive Council.

In July 2024, a Human Rights Court dismissed Reverend Kusi-Boateng’s application to prevent MP Ablakwa from making public statements about his involvement in the National Cathedral affairs.
