Ghanaian gospel musician MOGmusic, has admitted that a mistake on his part led to his disqualification from the Grammy nomination list.

MOGmusic, born Nana Yaw Boakye, had earlier generated excitement among fans by sharing that his album “Koinonia Phase II” was being considered for a Grammy Award.

Despite his hopes for nominations in categories such as Best Gospel Album, Album of the Year, and Best New Artist, MOGmusic fell short when the final nominations were announced.

In an interview with Hitz FM, he took responsibility for the oversight, explaining that the inclusion of the official Grammy logo on a promotional flyer was an error made by his social media team and that subsequently led to his disqualification.

“My social media handler made a mistake and put the official logo of the Grammys, and it got posted. Some Ghanaians drew my attention to it, and we quickly took it down, but it was too late. That is what went wrong on my side, it’s a mistake that my team made, and I take the bullet for myself,” MOGmusic stated.

Despite the setback, MOGmusic urged Ghanaians to rally behind their artistes and avoid mocking those who did not receive nominations.

He emphasized the need for unity and support within the Ghanaian music community.

“One piece of advice I have for Ghanaians is that I think we need to be very supportive. Davido submitted his work time and time again, but he just got his nominations. I never saw Nigerians trolling Davido or comparing him to Burna Boy. I think what we should do is be more united so that these people will realize that there is a group of people from Ghana who support their people or go all out for their people,” he urged.
