Prophet Elija Joshua, founder of Glory and Dominion Ministry and former independent parliamentary candidate for Evalue-Ajomoro Gwira, revealed he has paid GH¢40,000 to a sculptor to craft a new statue.

Speaking on Connect FM’s Omanbapa Morning Show, Prophet Joshua explained that he is currently seeking the necessary approvals from former President Akufo-Addo, the Western Regional House of Chiefs, and the Regional Minister before proceeding with the installation.

“The sculptor has promised to complete the statue by May this year,” he noted.

He added that if the statue cannot be placed at its original location, he would instead mount it on his pickup truck and drive it around as a tribute to Akufo-Addo’s contributions to the Western Region.

The original statue was destroyed in January 2024. Prophet Joshua said this replacement is his way of acknowledging the former president’s impactful projects in the region.

“President Akufo-Addo started the Effia Nkwanta Hospital expansion to attain teaching hospital status. He also began construction on the Takoradi Market Circle, the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange, and the dualisation of the Sekondi-Takoradi and Agona Nkwanta roads. These are lasting legacies that deserve recognition,” he stated.

“I’ll present the final work in May. If authorities refuse to allow the installation, I’ll take it to my hometown or place it in the back of my pickup and drive around,” he added.
