In a coordinated international operation, the Ghana Police Service, in partnership with the National Signals Bureau (NSB) and the Nigeria Police Force, has rescued two women who were abducted and featured in a widely circulated and disturbing kidnapping video.
The graphic footage, which showed one of the victims being brutally assaulted while naked, sparked national outrage and urgent calls for justice. The victims were traced and safely rescued following swift collaboration between Ghanaian and Nigerian security agencies.
A statement issued by the Ghana Police on Thursday confirmed the successful rescue and revealed that eight suspects had been arrested from various locations across Ghana and Nigeria. Among the suspects is Okoribe Olohitare Ejeme, identified as a key figure in the syndicate and an employee of the Aviation Security (AVSEC) unit at the Port Harcourt International Airport. Her arrest was made possible through joint efforts between the NSB and the Nigeria Police.

“The Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with the National Signals Bureau (NSB) and the Nigeria Police Force, has rescued the two female victims of kidnapping captured in a viral video,” the statement read. “Eight suspects have so far been arrested from their hideouts in Ghana and Nigeria.”
The Ghana Police expressed gratitude to both the NSB and their Nigerian counterparts for their vital support in the rescue mission and arrest operation.
One of the rescued victims has been identified as Ama Serwaa Konadu, a 39-year-old hairdresser and event decorator from Asiakwa in the Abuakwa South Municipality of Ghana’s Eastern Region. She was kidnapped on April 22, 2025, while on her way to work.
According to the police, her captors used her phone to send disturbing nude videos and physical abuse footage to her family, demanding a ransom of GH₵500,000 for her release. The videos left her relatives shocked and triggered the immediate involvement of national and international law enforcement bodies.
Authorities say further details will be released as investigations progress.
