Piesie Esther Explains Why She Changed Her Name From Ohemaa Esther
Ghanaian gospel star Piesie Esther has opened up about the story behind her name change from Ohemaa Esther to Piesie Esther.
Speaking in an interview on Okay FM with Nana Romeo, the award-winning singer revealed that the change came as a divine direction and a step toward building her identity in the gospel music industry.

According to her, the name “Piesie”, which means “firstborn” in Akan, reflects her role as a leader and a vessel chosen by God to inspire others through music.
She added that although many fans still remember her by her old name, Ohemaa Esther, the new name has brought her closer to her purpose and strengthened her brand.
