Breaking the news on the floor of the House, the Minority Leader expressed deep sorrow, stating that Kumi’s death was a significant blow to the NPP Caucus, the Akwatia Constituency, and the Parliament of Ghana. He recalled seeing the late MP actively participating in parliamentary duties just last week.

The Minority Leader then appealed to First Deputy Speaker Hon. Bernard Ahiafor, who was presiding, to adjourn the House so members could come to terms with the loss.
