Parents Protest At WAEC Kumasi Office Over Withheld Results

A group of frustrated parents and students gathered at the WAEC Kumasi office on Wednesday, demanding the release of results withheld from the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). The protesters expressed their concerns over the delay and called for immediate action regarding the withheld results.

The affected students, primarily from T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School, are unable to proceed with university admissions due to their withheld results. Reports suggest that over 2,000 students from the school have been impacted by this issue.

According to the parents, WAEC had sent messages instructing their children to report to the regional office for verification of any potential malpractice during the exams.

However, when they arrived as early as 8 a.m., they were met with silence from WAEC officials, prompting them to demand urgent answers, as reported by JoyNews’ Nana Boakye Yiadom.

The parents are adamant that the delay in releasing the results is putting their children’s academic futures at risk.

They have urged WAEC to expedite the process and make a final decision quickly to avoid further disruptions to the students’ education.
