The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has issued a public notice declaring former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta a wanted fugitive.

The notice, released on February 13, 2025, prominently features a “WANTED” banner alongside Ofori-Atta’s photograph and personal details, including his age, gender, eye color, hair color, and complexion. His potential locations are listed as the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States of America (USA).

According to the OSP, Ofori-Atta is wanted for questioning in connection with several high-profile cases, including:
🔹 Strategic Mobilization-GRA Contract
🔹 Termination of the ECG-GXC contract
🔹 National Cathedral payments
🔹 Ambulance Procurement Contract
🔹 Utilization of the Tax Refund Account

The announcement follows a February 12, 2025 press conference by Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, who declared Ofori-Atta a fugitive from justice. He urged the former minister to return to Ghana immediately to assist with investigations, warning that failure to comply would lead to compulsory measures to secure his return.

Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng also dismissed claims that Ken Ofori-Atta had traveled abroad for medical treatment, calling such assertions unfounded. He stressed that the former minister’s cooperation is non-negotiable and crucial to maintaining the integrity of the ongoing investigations.

In a surprising twist, Agyebeng refuted reports that OSP officials raided Ofori-Atta’s residence on February 11, 2025. Instead, he alleged that the former minister orchestrated the so-called raid to mislead the public and undermine the credibility of the OSP’s investigations.

The claims of a raid on his residence are false and calculated to distract from the serious allegations he faces. We urge the public to disregard such misinformation and focus on the facts,” Agyebeng stated during the press briefing.
