OSP Declares Ex-Finance Ministry Advisor ”Wanted” In SML Corruption Probe
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has issued a wanted notice for Ernest Darko Akore, a former Chef de Cabinet (Technical Advisor) at the Ministry of Finance, over alleged corruption-related offences.
In a public announcement dated Wednesday, July 16, 2025, the OSP indicated that Mr. Akore is being sought in connection with an ongoing probe into the Revenue Assurance Contract between the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML).

According to the notice, the 67-year-old Mr. Akore is believed to hold dual citizenship Ghanaian and American as he previously possessed a U.S. passport.
Investigators suspect he may be residing in one of several countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, or South Africa.
The OSP is appealing to the public for assistance in locating Mr. Akore and has provided two dedicated WhatsApp hotlines 0554494499 and 0554484488 for credible information and tip-offs regarding his whereabouts.
An arrest warrant has already been issued for Mr. Akore by the Criminal Division of the High Court, under the case title Republic v. Ernest D. Akore.
