In a recent interview on Accra FM, Afua recounted her audition for the ‘Mentor’ reality show, where she performed a song by Becca. Okraku-Mantey, serving as a judge at the time, suggested she would be better suited for beauty pageants. Although initially hurt by the comment, Afua took the advice in stride and participated in the Miss Tourism pageant, where she secured the first runner-up position.
Years later, during her attempt to set a Guinness World Record with a singathon, Afua encountered Okraku-Mantey again, who was then the Deputy Minister. She reminded him of his earlier advice, highlighting the irony of the situation. Afua also addressed rumors regarding alleged gifts from the government, clarifying that claims about receiving a vehicle or an apartment were unfounded, as she resides in her own home
