Nursing And Midwifery Licensing Exams postponed To September 4
The Ministry of Health has announced that the Centralised Nursing and Midwifery Licensing Examinations have been rescheduled to September 4, 2025.
This decision was made after a consultative meeting between the Minister for Health, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), and the Conference of Heads of Health Training Institutions (COHHETI).

As part of the new directive, the examinations will now be held at the respective training institutions, reverting to the earlier practice. The change is intended to ensure smooth participation, effective supervision by the NMC, and to minimize the risks associated with students traveling long distances to centralized examination centres.
“This step is crucial to protect the safety and well-being of candidates while guaranteeing fairness and effective monitoring of the examinations,” the Health Minister stated, adding that it was inappropriate for students to travel across regions just to write their exams.

The NMC will release a revised timetable and detailed guidelines in the coming days. The Minister further assured stakeholders that the Ministry will provide the necessary logistics to ensure the smooth rollout of the new arrangement.
The Ministry expressed its gratitude to candidates, training institutions, and all stakeholders for their cooperation and understanding.
